Tired of silence I'm content with other people taking the first step. I'm rarely the one to approach someone first but if at table with people who aren't talking or who also are shy, I will normally try to break the ice. My small talk runs out quickly and if we don't hit a topic that I can easily talk about then there is usually a lot of silence.
