I'm trying to get over my shyness

Hi everyone! I think its best to be very forthright and honest:I am a shy person who is tired of living like a lonely recluse. I have a bit of social anxiety and depression but I am trying to get over it, I'm still a bit awkward though. I think suffering builds compassion and depth, so maybe some anxiety and depression are a good thing? I am a very nice and gentle guy who trys to be a good person, I'm not the funniest person in the world but I have a great sense of humor and its really easy to make me laugh. I'm kind of a goofball, I'm not promiscuous, I am strongly opposed to cheating, it makes me cringe when your watching a movie and cheating isn't even presented as something negative, its like its becoming socially acceptable to cheat nowadays. Loyalty and fidelity are very very important to me. I'd like to connect with someone who also feels like a bit of an outsider so it could bring us together in a 'us against the world' type relationship. We can deal with life together and build a culture just for the two of us while the rest of the world goes to hell, I don't want to go through life alone anymore. I'd also be open to dating someone with a very outgoing extroverted personality too though to see if opposites really do attract. I'm not interested in any weird power games or tearing eachother down in a relationship. I think you need to help eachother out and cultivate confidence, trust and happiness with your significant other. I lift weights and am in pretty good shape, also I'm a big fan of rock / classic rock / and metal (Iron Maiden is the best!!!) I also have really really nerdy interests. (Like paranormal stuff, computers, and fantasy books) My favorite movies are: Scanner Darkly Dark Crystal Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Planes Trains and Automobiles Legend Lord of the Rings Elephant Man Nightmare Before Christmas Romeo and Juliet (1968 version) The Lives of Others Trainspotting Cant wait for 'Song of Ice and Fire' HBO series!!
