Just moved to DC area, would like to find friends

Hi I am looking for friends (maybe more) in this big crowded city. Feels intimitading but I like the challenge. I have some interests: I like to watch soccer, a D.C. United game would be perfect for a date. I like to dance but feel a lil scared about going to clubs/bars alone. I like to draw and cook as well but I am not that talented in either one, but trying to learn. If friendships turn to relationships, I am looking for a girl that is mature and is very down to earth.
